The Patek Philippe Annual Calendar, reference 5205, is one of the most recognisable watches of recent years, thanks in no small part by the three distinctive date, day and month windows arranged in an arc at the top of the dial. The reference 5205 was first introduced in 2010 in white gold. In 2013, Patek added two rose gold versions, with both white and black dial. The latter, reference 5205R-010, is in our opinion the best version of the 5205R to this date. The black dial perfectly integrates in the rose gold case, being more discreet and blending better in than the white version. Although Patek did a fantastic job with the green dial introduced in 2022, we still believe that the black one is the more versatile one.

The dial sunburst finish enhances the liveliness of the watch: indeed, it can vary from a deep black to a more brownish colour. This liveliness and different tints are a true testament to Patek’s knowledge and work on dials, constantly trying to make them more interesting and fascinating. The case is stunningly designed, thanks in no small part to the concaved bezel which helps to make the perceived appearance of the watch smaller on the wrist and brings the full focus of the eye on the dial. The date window at 12 o’clock is highlighted by a rose gold border, and the entire dial is surrounded by a minute track made of smaller rose gold dots. Moreover, the moonphase lies in a beautifully guilloché subdial. The watch is powered by the caliber 324 S QA LU 24H, which requires only one manual adjustment per year at the end of February. The watch is sold with its full original set. It was initially sold in Spain in 2015, and has been kept in like-new condition since then.
