about the watch

In 2004, A. Lange & Söhne achieved a significant milestone by introducing the world's first double rattrapante chronograph. This innovative timepiece features not one, but two chronograph hands and two rattrapante hands. The two additional hands, which are the seconds/chronograph hand and the minute hand located on the right sub-counter, can be stopped independently and effortlessly synchronized with the running hands using a simple push. The Double Split is a true marvel of mechanical engineering, showcasing the exceptional craftsmanship and expertise of Lange. The movement is characteristic of a Lange watch, with a multi-layered design that unveils beautifully finished components that fully come alive when the chronograph and split-second functions are activated. This particular timepiece was originally sold in 2005 and remains in pristine, like-new condition, having never been worn by its previous owner. Its striking black dial is enclosed within a platinum case, demonstrating Lange's mastery not only in intricate movements but also in working with metals. The two silver subdials enhance readability and add a touch of complexity to the otherwise clean dial. The luminova hands ensure excellent legibility in low-light conditions, making this watch not just a mechanical masterpiece but also a practical choice for daily wear. The watch is complemented by a black alligator leather strap. While this watch may not initially appear as the most extravagant timepiece, the true "wow" factor is revealed on the caseback, leaving both watch connoisseurs and amateurs alike in awe and admiration. In terms of rarity, it's difficult to find a timepiece as exceptionally complicated as an A. Lange & Söhne watch, particularly one housed in a platinum case. The Double Split is destined to make history as a milestone in technical advancement and is sure to gain a significant reputation and collectible value in the future.

The platinum case is in perfect condition, having barely ever been worn. It comes with a new and unworn black alligator strap.

The watch is sold with its full original set,  including the box and warranty papers that date the watch back to 2005.

The watch is powered by a manual movement, caliber L001.1, which works perfectly fine.
